(…or an example of what not to do ! )

I definitely pushed it too far in the making of this image -hardly subtle – would be a great moment in a horror movie. The sky is way overpainted and its even got a beam of light from heaven happening. I made this image in class to teach some students how to mash up images in photoshop but there’s definately a mismatch between the vintage image and the way-to-smooth digital signature. When I printed this image and had it framed for a small exhibition, it was clear in hard copy that it simply didn’t work. Technically and aesthetically – all the conceits simply don’t harmonise ie: the narrative is confused.
